More than a few years ago, I had a conversation with someone about who has the best donuts in town and they asked if I had ever had them from Rosedale Donuts. I told them I'm not from here, so no because I didn't even know they existed. The next thing you know, there were donuts at our front door. I had the chocolate long John, which is one of my go-to choices. I actually like chocolate buttermilk bars the best. The chocolate long John was not appetizing at all. It was greasy and tasted stale as if they sold them from the day before. Although I appreciated the kind gesture, I vowed I would never spend my own money there. Fast forward to yesterday, St. Patrick's Day, I decided to surprise my family with donuts to celebrate. My husband picked them up in the morning for breakfast and we ate them immediately. This time I had a chocolate buttermilk bar. I was not impressed at all. It didn't have that crunchy outer crust, it tasted stale as if they had made it the day before. Again, I was just not impressed at all. Another disappointment. There are so many better donut shops in the area. I'd rather spend my money there knowing I'm getting fresh donuts that are delicious. Going back twice

The lady didn't seem too nice , I wanted to get a different donut instead but she said no to me, the client ! So my husband said t He'd keep it as well. Not going back .

Apple fritter was good flavor but doughy in the middle. Make them thinner or cook them longer. Paid $3 for half of a donut Still our favorite place. So far

With KoRn’s success in the late 1990s Bakersfield’s only real claim to fame one shouldn’t expect much from the local culinary scene, yet as luck might have it Rosedale Donuts compares favorably to other like-shops in Los Angeles or San Diego despite a lower price-point. Presumably Cambodian owned, daily hours from 5am until 3pm finding all varieties of fried Dough made fresh on-site, it was before sunrise that shelves were found stuffed while two elderly gentlemen sipped Coffee near the window discussing their Christmas plans. Fast and friendly in terms of service, eight items including an oversized oilless Fritter boxed up for just over $12, Yeast Rings and Twists were fluffy beneath typical Glazes while Chocolate Cake ate more moist than many even before the addition of Frosting or Sprinkles. Not to be mistaken as an artisan shop, most everything assuredly made from a mix, proper frying temperatures see Cake excel whether standard or cog-wheel while Buttermilk Bars are absolutely flawless thanks to the application of Glaze while still warm thus allowing some penetration below the surface.

Went to Dunkin donuts on Saturday 10am there was 20cars in the drive thru. So I decided to go to Rosedale donuts. It was a great choice. It was EMPTY and all the donuts very fresh. The apple fritters were still hot! They were the best I ever had! Rosedale donuts is my new#1 donut shop!!
